About

Studio AKASAKA is a studio based in Berlin.

The work begins with a dialogue between hand and material. Metal is heated, hammered, and allowed to change. Through this process, forces that are usually invisible — pressure, heat, and time — leave traces on the surface.

These traces are not decoration but records of transformation.

Each object carries multiple layers of time: the time contained in the material, the time of making, the time of choosing and wearing it, and the time through which it may be passed on.

Studio AKASAKA works primarily through jewellery, exploring the relationship between material, energy, and time. The studio opens once a month in Berlin.

Visitors can encounter the work, the process of making, and the conversations that emerge from the studio.

Materials

Natural variations and traces of the making process are part of the work.
